Unconsented Data Transfusions

Poster summarising study investigating people's attitudes to consented and unconsented access to personal data on their smartphones during public health emergencies. Although not part of the Benefits and Disbenefits project, this poster is included because it visually demonstrates the inductive reflexive thematic analysis method used to analyse data in the project. The poster is related to the peer-reviewed short paper Unconsented Data Transfusions: Attitudes Towards Extracting Personal Device Data for Public Health Emergencies published in Proceedings of Mensch und Computer 2020 (MuC '20), research which was later extended and resulted in another peer-reviewed paper Tensions and Mitigations: Understanding Concerns and Values around Smartphone Data Collection for Public Health Emergencies published in Proceedings of the ACM on Human-Computer Interaction (CSCW) in 2021.
